MORE BENTLEY NEWS
July 2009 has brought the release of the driver's dream GTC Speed, a wolf in sheeps clothing, demonstrating an amazing performance, following the implementation of a all new handling package (advanced power steering system, and suspension system) allowing the car to corner and handle in a sensibly superior way than the GTC... when we thought it could not get better? well, not forgetting an improved gear ratio, and of course, aesthetics considered, it will sport the slight face lift the GT Speed benefited from, including the addition of a most tasteful boot lip.
Just in time for the season, The Fall will bring the mighty Continental SuperSports, the fastest, most powerful Bentley ever.
Qualifications?
Over 300 lbs lighter than the standard GT
621bph, 590lb/ft torque, 204 MPH, the new "quickshift" ZF transmission
"We wanted to make it a real driver's car" says Ulrich Eichhorn (Engineering Boss), who adds that, on real world roads, the Supersports will keep up with a Ferrari 599 GTB.
No need to say more!
Now, remember that Bentley Motors, in order to have their vehicles retain value, or increase in value in the next two years, has almost stopped production, so availability becomes scarce, and demand exceeds supply.
To make a long story short only 660 units (across both model ranges) will be imported to United States for the 2009 calendar year.
In another word, if you have your heart set on any Bentley model, availability will be "spotty", so plan early!
On the planning subject, as you perhaps know, 2009 is the final year of production for the venerable Arnage, after an eleven year run.
Its Drophead counterpart, the Azure will be offered in 2010 as the Azure T, a more powerful version of this stately classic, the Azure T will feature the full Mulliner configuration.
HAPPY MOTORING!
