DOWNTOWN AT THE GARDENS HOSTS "RELAY FOR LIFE" AWARENESS PARTY

Braman & Mall Invited Community to get Involved in the Fight Against Cancer

Downtown at the Gardens, the premier open-air shopping promenade in Palm Beach Gardens, hosted the Relay For Life Awareness Party on Thurs., Nov. 13, 2008.  Braman clients came out and enjoyed free food tastings, giveaways, and live entertainment, all in support of the fight against cancer.

Additionally, Braman displayed more than ten luxury automobiles and made a donation for each person that test drove a car during the event.

Both Braman and Dowtown at the Gardens were excited to host an event for such an important cause. Vince Cerone, COO of Braman, and Pamela Kluge, Director of Mall Marketing for Downtown at the Gardens, issued the following joint statement:
“This was a great opportunity for the community to have         fun, and learn how they can get involved in finding a cure     for cancer.”

“This effort was a great way to build awareness among Palm Beach Gardens residents of the need to help fight cancer,” said Ashley Gordon, Community Representative, Relay for Life of Palm Beach Gardens.  “As we celebrate Relay for Life, we hope this will encourage new community members to get involved in this fun event to celebrate those that have battled cancer, remember those lost to the disease, and fight to find a cure for the disease.”

Braman Sponsors Celebrity Art in Showrooms and at Event

Includes Don Shula, Marcus Allen, Bob Griese and many more

Hearts and Hope hosted the “Stars Shining for Hearts and Hope” Celebrity Art Show with previews at Braman Motorcars in West Palm Beach during October, 2008.

Sports and entertainment industry legends were invited to create paintings to be auctioned at a fund-raiser for Hearts and Hope, Inc.

The Previews, sponsored by Braman Motorcars, included numerous works created by more than 20 celebrity “artists.” The beneficiary of the event, Hearts and Hope, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing children, ages three to seventeen, and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one, a safe place in which to share and experience loving support while moving through the grieving and healing process.

Braman Motorcars, ideally located on the corner of Palm Beach Lakes and Okeechobee Boulevards, provided an excellent venue for displaying the masterpieces of Marcus Allen, Josh Duhamel, Ernie Els, Bob Griese, Bryant Gumbel, Gary Player, Scott Pruett, and Don Shula, to mention a few.

Event Director Michelle Jaminet said “We are overwhelmingly pleased with the positive response and support we have received from both, the celebrities and the sponsors. All of the paintings were simply fabulous and brought in great funds to the cause."

Vince Cerone, Braman's General Manager and COO added "Our facilities could not have been better utilized than in the support of and participation in this worthwhile cause. All of us at Braman are very pleased we could participate and our clients are very appreciative and excited about the quality and scope of this endeavor and the artwork of the featured celebrities."

The auction of the paintings was held at the Bears Club.

Braman Sponsors Women's Symposium

John Hopkins Medicine presents a
Women's Journey

Gathered at the Kravis Center on January 23rd were a thousand participants and many renowned faculty of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The gathering provided important health information for the participants and also gave them an opportunity to speak with faculty members about their health concerns.
Johns Hopkins, located in Baltimore, is known throughout the world for the quality of the care it provides and the advances it has made in diagnosing and treating diseases.  On the Hopkins campus in Baltimore there are a number of hospital facilities devoted to specific illnesses and treatments. For instance, the Cancer Center is one of the premier sites for Cancer treatment in the country.  Some of the Cancer Center faculty appeared at the Kravis Center event, contributing information through a panel discussion.

Theo Tarantini, who heads Braman's Health Care Initiative, was able to speak with faculty members, some of whom he has worked with at Johns Hopkins.  Among the most inspiring of  the speakers was Lillie Shockney, breast cancer survivor, acclaimed humorist, author and lecturer who presented during the Plenary Session.  She held her audience spellbound as she described her journey through the diagnosis and treatment of her breast cancer. Currently, Lillie is the Administrator of the Avon Breast Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.

Lillie and Theo had a chance to speak after the morning session about the Johns Hopkins presence in Palm Beach. Lillie indicated that while it is only a referral office, it does coordinate care of patients who want to be treated at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, saying "it works well and we are very pleased with our presence here".
Theo voiced some concerns about the lack of Johns Hopkins physicians at the Johns Hopkins Office in Palm Beach. "A referral office is fine, but the community would like to have the presence of Johns Hopkins physicians who can see patients, evaluate their conditions and then refer them to Baltimore." Joining the discussion on this topic was the Co-Chair of the event, Mollye Block, who indicated that "one cannot duplicate the resources of  a Johns Hopkins in Palm Beach, but a presence of  physicians would be welcome for a limited role in getting patients referred to  Baltimore."
Cheryl McDuffie, the organizer of the event and Hopkins program analyst, was enthusiastic about Theo's comments and said, "we need to stay in touch about the ideas you have for the Hopkins presence in Palm Beach, but most of all, all of us at Hopkins appreciate the role that Braman played in supporting this event. We hope that you will continue to do this in the future." Theo indicated that Braman Motors "supports many great causes and will continue to be a strong voice and leader among businesses in Palm Beach County for events such as "A Woman's Journey."

Braman joins Winter Equestrian Festival

Complimentary tickets available for Braman clients

Braman Motorcars is partnering up with The Winter Equestrian Festival, the largest and longest-running event in horse sports. This event will take place at the newly renovated Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida. Each year thousands of spectators are captivated by the enticing experience. The events are held from January 7th through March 29th, 2009.

Amongst the crowd and exhibitors are celebrities, eminent business leaders, and political figures. According to Equestrian Sport Productions LLC, The Winter Equestrian Festival is to horse sports what Wimbledon is to tennis, the America’s Cup is to sailing and The Masters is to golf. The WEF is a proving ground for the United States Equestrian Team and serves as host of selection trials and qualifiers for such important international events as the FEI World Cup Finals and the Olympic Games.

The WEF is also the home of the only FEI Nations Cup competition in the United States, the most intense competition on the equestrian calendar.

“We are very excited and pleased to offer not only our support for the WEF but the availability of show tickets for our clients as well as use of the Braman VIP lounge at some of the events.” Stated Braman’s General Manager and COO Vincent Cerone.

In addition to Olympic-caliber competition, the WEF hosts the nation’s premier competition for children, juniors, adults, and amateurs; for riders aged from 6 to 70 years old in more than 55 unique divisions of competition.

According to ESP LLC, a few of the events that will take place include:

Grand Prix Show Jumping

Grand Prix show jumping is the most challenging and sophisticated level of jumping competition; pure athletic competition of the highest order. The horse-and-rider combination must jump fences up to 6’ in height and 5’ wide without dropping a rail and within the time allowed.

Hunters

Hunt seat competitions are based upon elegant traditions arising from the fox hunt, where beautifully groomed horses are prized as much for their impeccable manners as their lovely jumping style over fences. Hunters also complete a course with fences, however in this competition they are judged on the style and technical proficiency of the horse and rider within the constraints of the course design.

Dressage

Dressage is pure elegance in motion, where every movement made by the horse and rider is choreographed to perfection. The fan favorite is the musical freestyle dressage where horses perform to music chosen by their riders. The horse/rider combination is subject to a panel of judges similar to an ice skating competition with scores awarded for technical excellence and artistic merit

Families share activities and enjoy pony rides, petting zoos, fun entertainment and live music.

Braman Gives "Horsepower" to Vinceremos
Nearly $14,000 raised from spirited MINI auction at Gala Dinner Dance and Auction

Vinceremos, the therapeutic riding school for the handicapped, had its "Night Under the Stars".  The grand night featured "A Feast of Luxury Automobiles" presented by Braman Motorcars, who worked closely with the Vinceremos staff to make this a very successful fund-raiser for a very worthy cause.

Braman bid cards im-use during a spirited auction of the MINI Cooper

Braman Motorcars contributed a two year lease on a MINI Cooper and in the auction part of the evening, the lease helped to raise almost $14,000.  Braman Motorcars has gone even further in supporting this wonderful charity by offering to continue the campaign throughout the coming year.  Anyone who attended and kept their bid card may call a special number to drive one of our beautiful automobiles. Should they buy the automobile, a donation will be made to Vinceremos.
Vinceremos has a goal of raising one million dollars to build an indoor arena for the children and veterans that it serves. The fundraiser on February 22 raised a quarter of a million dollars toward that goal.  With that amount, Vinceremos is close to having met the three quarter mark of their financial goal.
Braman takes pride in supporting community activities, and especially those that provide such important services to our children in need.  In the course of this year, Vinceremos will begin working with wounded Veterans, using the Healing Power of horses to advance their rehabilitation, and help them to regain their confidence.  Throughout the campaign, Braman was pleased to let our customers know that Braman gives horsepower to Vinceremos.  Braman will continue to be there all year long for Vinceremos.
The following week, the couple who bid on the Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. John McCarthy came to our dealership to pick up the brand new MINI for their daughter. Everyone wins, the children who need our help and support, and the winning couple who wanted their daughter to drive an incredibly safe, fuel-efficient car.
We salute the McCarthys and their generosity to Vinceremos. We encourage anyone with the time and horse skills to become a volunteer at Vinceremos.  Call them directly at 561-792-9900 and give them the most precious gift you can: time.

The Braman Girls, Stephanie and Gabriella, flank the winner of the auction. He purchased the car for his daughter.
