Braman Motorcars Supports March of Dimes

Braman Supports The Red Cross

Braman Motorcars did not just reach out to the local community on January 30th, the philanthropic dealership also extended a helping hand to the Red Cross Organization.

Ambassadors from all across the world were flown in to Palm Beach on Donald Trump's private plane.  Palm Beaches finest hosted the World Ambassadors at their magnificent homes.

Braman Motorcars also contributed the most luxurious of their Audi's, BMW's, Porsche's, and Bentley's to chauffeur the host families and ambassadors.

As the eventful weekend came to an
end, the Red Cross Ball was a complete success; raising large funds and creating an understanding for what a simple helping hand can accomplish.

BRAMAN SPONSORS CHAMPION FOR THE CURE LUNCHEON

Ambassador Nancy Brinker, founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to be keynote speaker

Champions for the Cure was proud to welcome Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, founding chair of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, as the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Pink Ribbon luncheon.   This breast cancer educational seminar was held at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton on Saturday, October 3 at 10 a.m.

"We were honored to host Ambassador Brinker who captivated, inspired and educated our guests with her passion for the cause," said luncheon committee chair Fern Duberman.  "Breast cancer can happen to anyone, and awareness begins at the grassroots level.  If our message encourages just one woman to go for her mammogram, or if the funds go to one piece of research that takes us one step closer to a cure, we will have fulfilled our mission."

Ambassador Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982 that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and launched the global breast cancer movement. Komen for the Cure is now the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care of all and energize science to find cures.

Known globally as a change agent, Ambassador Brinker was included in Time's "100 Most Influential People in 2008" and was recently appointed as The World health Organization's Goodwill Ambassador for cancer control.

This year's honorary chairs are Ambassador Ned L. Siegel and Stephanie Siegel.  Stephanie is a Board Member of the Komen Advocacy Alliance.  The Komen Advocacy Alliance is the non partisan voice for over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors and the people who love them. Members of this 501c4 organization translate the Komen promise to end breast cancer forever into action at all levels of government to discover and deliver the cures.

Braman Sponsors Celebrity Art in Showrooms and at Event

Includes Don Shula, Marcus Allen, Bob Griese and many more

Hearts and Hope hosted the "Stars Shining for Hearts and Hope" Celebrity Art Show with previews at Braman Motorcars in West Palm Beach during October, 2008.

Sports and entertainment industry legends were invited to create paintings to be auctioned at a fund-raiser for Hearts and Hope, Inc.

The Previews, sponsored by Braman Motorcars, included numerous works created by more than 20 celebrity "artists." The beneficiary of the event, Hearts and Hope, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing children, ages three to seventeen, and their families who have experienced the death of a loved one, a safe place in which to share and experience loving support while moving through the grieving and healing process.

Braman Motorcars, ideally located on the corner of Palm Beach Lakes and Okeechobee Boulevards, provided an excellent venue for displaying the masterpieces of Marcus Allen, Josh Duhamel, Ernie Els, Bob Griese, Bryant Gumbel, Gary Player, Scott Pruett, and Don Shula, to mention a few.

Event Director Michelle Jaminet said "We are overwhelmingly pleased with the positive response and support we have received from both, the celebrities and the sponsors. All of the paintings were simply fabulous and brought in great funds to the cause."

Vince Cerone, Braman's General Manager and COO added "Our facilities could not have been better utilized than in the support of and participation in this worthwhile cause. All of us at Braman are very pleased we could participate and our clients are very appreciative and excited about the quality and scope of this endeavor and the artwork of the featured celebrities."

The auction of the paintings was held at the Bears Club.

John Hopkins Medicine presents a
Women's Journey

Gathered at the Kravis Center on January 23rd were a thousand participants and many renowned faculty of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The gathering provided important health information for the participants and also gave them an opportunity to speak with faculty members about their health concerns.
Johns Hopkins, located in Baltimore, is known throughout the world for the quality of the care it provides and the advances it has made in diagnosing and treating diseases.  On the Hopkins campus in Baltimore there are a number of hospital facilities devoted to specific illnesses and treatments. For instance, the Cancer Center is one of the premier sites for Cancer treatment in the country.  Some of the Cancer Center faculty appeared at the Kravis Center event, contributing information through a panel discussion.

Theo Tarantini, who headed Braman's Health Care Initiative, was able to speak with faculty members, some of whom he has worked with at Johns Hopkins.  Among the most inspiring of  the speakers was Lillie Shockney, breast cancer survivor, acclaimed humorist, author and lecturer who presented during the Plenary Session.  She held her audience spellbound as she described her journey through the diagnosis and treatment of her breast cancer. Currently, Lillie is the Administrator of the Avon Breast Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.
Lillie and Theo had a chance to speak after the morning session about the Johns Hopkins presence in Palm Beach. Lillie indicated that while it is only a referral office, it does coordinate care of patients who want to be treated at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, saying "it works well and we are very pleased with our presence here".
Theo voiced some concerns about the lack of Johns Hopkins physicians at the Johns Hopkins Office in Palm Beach. "A referral office is fine, but the community would like to have the presence of Johns Hopkins physicians who can see patients, evaluate their conditions and then refer them to Baltimore." Joining the discussion on this topic was the Co-Chair of the event, Mollye Block, who indicated that "one cannot duplicate the resources of  a Johns Hopkins in Palm Beach, but a presence of  physicians would be welcome for a limited role in getting patients referred to  Baltimore."
Cheryl McDuffie, the organizer of the event and Hopkins program analyst, was enthusiastic about Theo's comments and said, "we need to stay in touch about the ideas you have for the Hopkins presence in Palm Beach, but most of all, all of us at Hopkins appreciate the role that Braman played in supporting this event. We hope that you will continue to do this in the future." Theo indicated that Braman Motors "supports many great causes and will continue to be a strong voice and leader among businesses in Palm Beach County for events such as "A Woman's Journey."
